Total eggs abundance in subdivision 26 was determined according to the results of ichthyoplankton survey. The total sprat stock of this area was determined according to total eggs abundance, sprat fecundity, males and females correlation and the ratio of spawning females. The relative sprat stock in the Baltic Sea subdivisions was determined from the materials of trawl counting survey made in May. Total absolute stock of Baltic sprat for subdivisions 25, 26, 28, 29, 32, that was made up 6.0 million centners for the beginning of 1977 was calculated from the correlation of relative sprat stock in subdivisions and absolute stock in subdivision 26. It was determined that more prolonged period of spawning and periods of mass spawning are characteristic of south-western and sothern sea areas. Seasonal changes in species composition of ichthyoplankton in sea areas were observed. Sprat eggs and larvae dominate in Baltic ichthyoplankton on all spawning grounds. As a result of long term investigations it was determined that main part of Baltic pelagophillous fish stocks reproduct in south-western and southern sea areas where prolonged spawning period and more stable conditions for eggs and larvae development in comparison with the eastern and north-eastern areas are observed. The changes of its qualitative and quantitative composition are shown, the increase of productivity in all the investigated areas due to the dynamics of water regime and sea eutrophication was observed. Long-term changes of bottom fauna in the Eastern Baltic (1965— 1976) and in the Gulf of Riga (1958—1976) were considered. The increase of zoobenthos biomass in the zone of middle depths in the Baltic Sea and coastal (10—30 m) zone in the Gulf of Riga, rise of the lower border of species inhabitancy and predomination of polytypic steady to pollution species were observed.
