| Abstract: | Records for the period 1970-1984 are used to show schematically the results of analysis of variance and regression analysis of the relationship between the number of herring of year class 0+ in the Bay of Riga and the heat stored in the water of the Bay in winter, spring and summer, solar activity in winter and summer, the nutritional basis for the fish eggs and the herring larvae in spring, the size of the spawning herring stock, and the size of the cod stock. The results of the correlation analysis of the above relationships and the regression equations for reliably predicting the size of a herring year class 0+ six months and one-and-a-half years in advance are given.
The calculated values are close to the actual values. The values obtained in this way can be used for ecosystem analysis of biological processes in the Baltic. |
