The Institute conducts complex studies of the bioresources of the Azov and Black Seas, monitoring of water quality, rearing of valuable fish species and crayfish, reglamentation of pesticides' use, technology of detoxication of the water and hydrobionts. The principle directions are: “Bioresources” - stock and admissible catches assessment, commercial species reproduction, fishery monitoring; “Ecology of fishery waterbodies” - ecological monitoring, anthropogenic effects assessment; “Industrial aquaculture” - fish and crayfish industrial reproduction; breeding and rearing technologies; feeds; fish diseases.
